The Nigerian Army has issued a strong warning to citizens regarding a fraudulent recruitment advertisement currently spreading across various social media platforms. The deceptive publication falsely claims that the online application portal for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake has officially opened.
In an official statement released on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Captain AU Hammanga, the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the Directorate of Recruitment, explicitly debunked the viral post. The military authorities urged the public to completely disregard the false announcement.
“The publication is false and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the Army stated.
Officials emphasized that the military follows a strict, structured protocol when launching enlistment exercises. They advised hopeful candidates to depend solely on verified, official communication channels to get accurate updates and avoid misinformation.
“The Nigerian Army maintains a clear and official procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities and will duly inform the public through its official channels once the portal for 92 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened,” the statement said.
This urgent public notice arrives amidst growing fears that sophisticated syndicates and fraudsters are using the fake job advertisement to scam vulnerable job seekers, potentially swindling unsuspecting applicants out of their hard-earned money.
Reassuring the nation, the military command reiterated that its enlistment frameworks are built on integrity, openness, and merit.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes,” it stated.
Furthermore, the Army strongly cautioned the public against falling prey to these criminal recruitment syndicates. Prospective applicants were strictly advised to cross-check and verify the validity of any military job information through official army outlets before attempting to submit personal documents or making any financial payments.
The Nigerian Army implored everyone to entirely ignore the viral social media post until a legitimate, official declaration is formally broadcasted concerning the start of the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake.
