Rtn. Chibuzo H. Asogwa is a Rotarian of the Rotary Club of Ekulu since 2009. He served twice as Club President in 2011/12 and 2012/13, laying the foundation that repositioned the Club for the growth it enjoys today.
At the District level, he was 2nd Runner-Up for Best Assistant Governor Award in 2016 while serving as Assistant Governor under the then District 9140, which comprised 16 states. The last District Governor of District 9140 honoured him with the District Significant Outstanding Award in 2017.
He played a key role during the countdown to redistricting, seconding the motion at Conference that saw District 9140 split into District 9141 and District 9142.
Since the creation of District 9142, he has served as:

While serving as District Chair, Friendship Exchange Committee, he was nominated District Governor Nominee Designate, and subsequently confirmed as District Governor Nominee, District Governor Elect, and now District Governor 2026-2027.
Chibuzo is a Development Specialist with over 20 years’ experience in financial and public sector finance. He began his career in 2004 with Standard Trust Bank and has held leadership roles across United Bank for Africa, Oceanic Bank, Intercontinental Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Fidelity Bank, and Skye Bank. His portfolios included Head of Public Sector – Local Government Business, Head of Commercials, Branch Lead, and Business Manager.
As South East Project Manager, he led the automation of revenue collection for MDAs in Enugu through the Enugu State Internal Revenue Service, and the rollout of the State Land Use Charge. This work strengthened domestic revenue mobilization in line with the World Bank’s SFTAS program. His consultancy spans organizations, government, and multilateral agencies.
His passion for service, hereditary in his family, was nurtured as an undergraduate. He served as Local Organization President of Junior Chamber International – JCI Enugu, President of the National Association of Marketing Students, General President of the Legion of Mary, and President of the Managers Forum.
In 2017, the Enugu State Government appointed him a Justice of the Peace. He also served as an Independent Monitor for the National Social Investment Program under the Office of the Vice President.
He is a 4th Degree Knight of the Ancient and Noble Order of the Knights of St. John International, a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria. He is a recipient of multiple awards in leadership, service, and professional excellence, and has attended numerous local and international trainings in finance, governance, and development.
Chibuzo, also known as “Odogwu”, gives thanks to God for his wife Chigozie, and their children Ugomsinachi and ObialunammaChukwu. He is grateful to his parents Ochiagha Celestine & Lolo Bridget Ada, and his siblings of the Royal Igwe Asogwa Ekwueme dynasty.
