The President General of Omuoha Obuoffia autonomous community, Chidi Ugwu, has commended the state governor for prioritising youth inclusion in the recent emergence of flagbearers of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for different national and state assembly offices, describing the move as a demonstration of commitment to fairness, inclusion, and long-term development.
In a statement, Ugwu who is also the Supervisor for Finance in Nkanu West Local Government Area, said the concensus choice of candidates reflects a deliberate effort to create opportunities for young people and reinforce the idea that leadership is accessible beyond established political structures.
According to him, the development has renewed hope among many aspiring leaders who have yet to access public office, noting that it underscores the role of vision, courage, and inclusiveness in governance.
He added that while some individuals driven by personal ambition may choose alternative political paths, such actions should not detract from what he described as positive progress in the state.
The former Special Adviser on Security in Nkanu West urged residents to support those appointed into office, stressing the need for unity and collective responsibility in ensuring the success of the administration’s initiatives.
He also emphasised the importance of patience and trust in the political process, noting that leadership opportunities emerge over time.
The stakeholder said sustained unity, humility, and shared commitment remain essential to building a stronger future for Enugu State.
