Ahead of the third edition of the Frontier Discourse Annual Public Lecture and Awards organised by Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, Renowned Cleric and Academic, Msgr. Prof. Obiora Ike and Mr. Emeka Mba, CEO of Afia TV & Radio and a former Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission have both been named as Co-Chairmen of the event.
Msgr. Obiora Ike
Msgr. Obiora Ike is a Professor of Ethics and Intercultural Studies at the Godfrey Okoye University in Enugu State, Nigeria. He is the Founding Director of the Catholic Institute of Development, Justice, Peace and Caritas (CIDJAP); Chairman of Umuchinemere Pro-credit Microfinance Bank Limited; Chairman of the Enugu State Economic Advisory Committee. He is the immediate past Executive Director of the Geneva-based GlobEthics.net.
He is a Scholar, Writer, Teacher and Professor with several years of experience and a demonstrated history of working in civil society organisations, non-profit and religious institutions. He has strong professional skills in non-profit organizations, Human Management, Networking, Religious Thought Leadership, Public Speaking, Strategic Planning, and Research.
Dr. Ike holds degrees in philosophy, theology, economics, journalism, and political science. He gained his doctorate degrees in Bonn, Germany, with a specialisation in Ethics and Christian Social Thought.
Professor Dr. Ike has held several positions of service in the Church, Society, and State within Africa and Europe.
Mr. Emeka Mba
Emeka Mba is a distinguished professional with a notable career in the media industry, currently the CEO of Afia TV and formerly the Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC). With his extensive experience and expertise, Mr. Mba has made significant contributions to the development and growth of the media landscape in Nigeria.
He has served in various roles across media, technology and entertainment, as well as in regulatory policy management. He is a leading expert and visionary especially on the intersection between government policy and technology in shaping the trajectory and growth of media and entertainment industries.
Prior to his role at Afia TV, Mr. Mba served as the Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the regulatory framework and policies governing the broadcasting industry. He implemented progressive reforms and initiatives aimed at fostering a competitive and vibrant media sector, promoting local content, and ensuring broadcasting standards of the highest caliber.
Between 2005 to 2012, Mba also served as Director General, National Film and Video Censors Board.

The Third Frontier Discourse Annual Public and Awards will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Hotel Sunshine, Presidential Road, Independence Layout, Enugu, by 11am (Green Carpet).
The Keynote Speaker, Ike Neliaku, Ph.D, fnipr, ficmc, President and Chairman of Council, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, will speak on “The Post Subsidy Economy – Exploring Bold Initiatives For Economic Recovery In Nigeria”.
Rt. Hon. Prince Ofor Chukwuegbo (Member, 9th National Assembly) and Dr. Ben Nwoye (Ex Enugu State APC Chairman, Ex Federal Commissioner, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission) will both headline the event as Guests of Honour.
While The Rt. Rev. Dennis O. Mark (Methodist Bishop of Awkunanaw Diocese) will be the Spiritual Father of the Day, HRM Igwe Godwin N. Madu, JP (Mbaogu 11 of Mbaogu Kingdom & Ezeala 111 of Achi) and HRH Igwe Barr. R.S.N Ezeh (Chairman, Enugu North Traditional Rulers Council) will be the Royal Fathers of the Day.
Awards will be presented by Hon. Uchenna Ejim (Executive Chairman, Nkanu West LGA) and a discourse to commemorate the 74th Anniversary of the Coal Miners Massacre will also be held.
