Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced plans to commission 39 projects across the state in September as part of activities marking the state’s 39th anniversary.
Eno disclosed this on Sunday, August 23, 2026, during the Victory Thanksgiving Service marking the end of the 22nd Anniversary and Discovery Convention of All Nations Christian Ministry International.
The governor also declared September 2026 a Month of Gratitude, urging Akwa Ibom residents to unite in thanksgiving to God as the state commemorates its anniversary.
He further disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to visit the state to commission some of the projects executed by his administration.
Eno said the anticipated presidential visit would add significance to the anniversary celebrations and urged residents to pray for a successful visit.
The governor announced that the 39th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service would hold on September 20 at the International Christian Worship Centre, while a State Banquet would take place on September 23 at the Banquet Hall of ARISE Palm Resort.
According to him, the anniversary celebrations would provide an opportunity for the people to reflect on what he described as God’s faithfulness to Akwa Ibom and join in thanksgiving.
Eno also announced that the 2026 Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol would hold on Friday, December 18, with the theme, “Peace on Earth and Goodwill to Men,” taken from Luke 2:14.
He said participating choirs would be selected through a pitching portal, adding that Harmonic Voices had already been prequalified.
The governor expressed appreciation to the clergy, members of All Nations Christian Ministry International, stakeholders and other supporters for their support for the church and his administration.
He described members of the ministry as his “heroes”, saying their belief in the vision of the church and support for his leadership were deeply appreciated.
The Victory Thanksgiving Service was attended by the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; wife of the Senate President, Dr. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio; Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno-Obareki; Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong; the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; serving and former senators, as well as other political, religious and community leaders.
