NDC Ends Presidential Expression of Interest Form Sale, Extends Others to May 24

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended the deadline for the collection of Expression of Interest Forms for aspirants seeking elective offices ahead of the 2027 elections.

In a statement signed by its National Secretary, Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu, the party said the new deadline for aspirants contesting State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and governorship positions is now 12 midnight on May 24, 2026.

The deadline was initially scheduled to close on May 17.

The party also announced that screening of aspirants who have obtained and completed the forms will commence on May 19 and end on May 26.

According to the statement, the collection and submission of Nomination Forms for screened and cleared aspirants will begin on May 20 and close on May 26.

The NDC, however, declared that the collection of Expression of Interest Forms for the Office of the President has closed.

It warned aspirants to comply strictly with the revised timetable, stressing that no further extension would be granted.

The party directed aspirants to appear for screening and pre-qualification interviews at designated centres nationwide with relevant credentials, including educational certificates, birth certificates or declarations of age, voter cards, passport photographs, membership cards, and curriculum vitae.

“All documents submitted to the Screening Committee must be in six copies each,” the statement said.

The party added that aspirants would be assessed based on factors such as competence, character, local considerations, and the wishes of the electorate.

It also instructed the Screening Committee to observe the party’s affirmative action policy for women, youths, and persons living with disabilities.

The NDC further encouraged aspirants to explore consensus arrangements, noting that only cleared aspirants would qualify to purchase Nomination Forms.
