The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says the third and final phase of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will begin on May 11, 2026.
In a statement issued by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, and shared on INEC’s verified X account, the commission said the exercise will run until July 10, 2026.
INEC said the second phase of the registration was suspended on April 17 to allow for the clean-up of the voter register following its publication for claims and objections.
The commission urged eligible Nigerians who have turned 18, as well as those who missed earlier phases, to take advantage of the final window to register.
It also advised registered voters seeking to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or update their biodata to visit its online portal or any of its state and local government offices nationwide.
INEC added that the register of voters will be displayed for public scrutiny from July 23 to July 29, 2026, to allow for claims and objections.
The commission said all arrangements have been finalised to ensure a smooth exercise and called on citizens to participate in strengthening the electoral process.
