A professional in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, Dr. Nick Ogbodo, has expressed hope that the tenure of the newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, will restore public trust in the police and ease the nation’s security concerns.
In a statement personally signed by Dr. Nick Ogbodo and issued to newsmen after a personal visit to the Police Boss, while lauding Disu’s appointment, Ogbodo extended profound appreciation to President Bola Tinubu “for the wisdom and foresight shown in entrusting this critical national assignment to a man of your [Disu] caliber.”

Dr. Ogbodo highlighted Disu’s professional track record, describing it as “defined by discipline, operational excellence, courage under pressure, and an unblemished commitment to duty”, highlighting that those qualities earned him respect “both within the Nigeria Police Force and among the citizens you have served.”
At a time when Nigeria faces complex security challenges, Ogbodo noted that Disu’s “wealth of experience and proven leadership are precisely what the country needs.”
Ogbodo prayed for divine wisdom, protection, and strength upon Disu in discharging the enormous national responsibility of securing lives and properties.
Disu joined the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
