Judge Escapes Through Window as Bandits Attack Sharia Court in Katsina

Bandits attacked a Sharia court in Gwarjo village, Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State, forcing the presiding judge to jump through a window to escape abduction.

Findings revealed that the gunmen stormed the court premises at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday and began firing sporadically, forcing people, including the judge, Mohammed Muktar, to flee for safety.

It was gathered that the judge was inside the courtroom when he spotted the approaching bandits from a distance.

“He quickly jumped through one of the courtroom windows and escaped before they entered the courtroom.

“The bandits entered the courtroom, fired indiscriminately and repeatedly asked for the judge.”

As of the time of filing this report, the police and the Katsina State Government had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
