Rangers International Football Club of Enugu have etched their name in the history books after both the men’s and women’s teams emerged champions in the Enugu State FA Cup.
Rangers Women delivered a ruthless performance in the final, thrashing Zohar FA 10–0. The Flying Does dominated from the start, scoring six goals in the first half before adding four more after the break to seal a comprehensive victory.
In the men’s final, Rangers defeated NLO side INGAS FC 2–1 in a competitive encounter. Waheed Adebayo opened the scoring in the 26th minute, rising highest to head home a long throw from Daniel Itodo. Early in the second half, Pius Igwe doubled the lead from close range. INGAS FC pulled one back in the 58th minute from the penalty spot, but Rangers held firm to secure the win.
Speaking after the matches, the club’s General Manager, Barr. Amobi Ezeaku praised both teams for their remarkable achievement.
“I want to congratulate the teams for making history. This is the first time Rangers Women and Rangers International FC Men are winning the FA Cup in our state, and we will continue to push for more.
“This aligns with the innovation-driven vision of His Excellency, Dr. Barr. Peter Ndubuidi Mbah, who has consistently encouraged excellence.
“Now, as we head to represent Enugu State at the national level, it’s time to showcase our tactical depth, technical quality, and overall brilliance. Every trophy matters, and today is a proud moment for us.”
