Umahi, the Southeast Governors Forum Chairman, spoke after a zoom meeting of the regional governors where they lamented the tragedy.
The forum condemned the murder and expressed solidarity with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodima.
Umahi enjoined security agencies to nab the masterminds of the killing.
In a statement by the Ebonyi State governor, the forum commiserated with the bereaved family and the government and people of Adamawa State.
Umahi has appointed Prof. Chigozie Uneke as the Acting Vice Chancellor (VC) of King David Medical Science University in Uburu Ohaozara Local Government.
The governor’s approval is contained in a statement yesterday in Abakaliki by the Secretary to the State Government and Coordinating Commissioner, Mr. Kenneth Ugbala.
Umahi said the appointment was with effect from June 1 and would last for six months, subject to renewal.
He said the position was to ensure smooth take off and effective management of the institution.
