The family of Late Chief Obed Nnaji of Amugo community in Akpugo, Nkanu West local government area of Enugu state, has fixed Friday, March 20, 2026, for the final rites of passage of their matriarch, Mrs. Monica Nnenna Nnaji.
Late Mrs Nnaji, also known as ‘Nne Okwukwe’ was the mother of the immediate past Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji; the Director-General, All Progressive Governors’ Forum, Obiora Nnaji; a renowned Telecom Engineer, David Nnaji; and current member representing Nkanu East and West Federal Constituency, Pharm. Nnolim Nnaji.
In a funeral announcement signed by Chief Uche Nnaji, who’s the first son of the deceased, her obsequies will commence with a wake/service of songs on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, by 5pm at the Akpugo Development Center, Akpugo, Nkanu West.
This will be followed by her funeral service on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 10am, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Akpugo, Nkanu West; and the burial reception at the Akpugo High School Football Field, Nkanu West.
Condolence visits will continue on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Akpugo Development Center, Akpugo, Nkanu West.
On Sunday, March 22, 2026, the Thanksgiving Mass will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, Akpugo, Nkanu West, at 9am.
The late Mrs. Monica Nnenna Nnaji was born on 30th March, 1949. She passed on 6th January, 2026.
