The Executive Chairman of Nkanu West, Hon. John Ogbodo, has called on leaders around the world to prioritize the education and healthcare of children, describing them as the greatest treasures and true owners of the future.
This was contained in a statement issued by Nkanu West Media Office, on behalf of the council chairman, to mark the 2025 Children’s Day Celebration.
According to Hon. Ogbodo, the joy and laughter children bring into every home was a testament to the bright and optimistic future they carry, adding that the duty of parents was to make their paths easier.
“The prayer of all good parents is for their children to surpass them in every aspect of life. This prayer should not remain a mere wish but should reflect in the conscious efforts made by leaders globally to ensure children can thrive without limitations,” he stated.
He emphasized the need to teach children how to think, not what to think.
“As the world continues to evolve technologically, we must make these advancements accessible to them for proper application.
“Parents must also be present in the lives of their children and strive to instill sound moral values. We must become the future they look up to, for children learn faster by emulation.
“Today, we celebrate the innocence, purity, and untapped potential within every child. We celebrate the joy and laughter they bring into our homes. As it is often said, “He never becomes old who carries his childhood with him.”
“Happy Children’s Day to the children of Nkanu West and beyond”, the statement read.
