Today, I received an insightful presentation from the E7 delegates on integrating the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), satellite systems with a smart driving license platform.

NASRDA plans to enhance national security and governance through satellite-enabled digital identification systems will ensure secure, tamper-proof licenses, improve service delivery, and extend access to rural areas with low digital penetration.

NASRDA will provide the satellite backbone for this initiative, enabling nationwide connectivity, including underserved and rural areas, including remote places with low digital penetration.

Integration of satellite data with the E7 platform will support traffic management, enforcement, and emergency response systems, real-time geolocation services to ensure the security and authenticity of digital driving licenses.

The intent is to pursue global examples and standards that integrate satellite technology for secure digital identity and accessibility will be promoted through reliable, secure data transmission and universal access via satellite connectivity, bridging the digital divide.

I am excited about these prospects, as this is one of the core underlying purposes of a leading space agency under the ministry.

Pushing the envelope for Global standards and compliance in navigating the benefits that Satellite technology can deliver for our nation is paramount for ensuring our national security, enhancing our strategic capabilities, and safeguarding our critical infrastructure.
