Igwesi condoles with Senator Ekweremadu
Prince Onochie Igwesi, Chairman of The Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, was, on Monday, 15th February, 2021, at the Enugu home of the Fmr. Deputy President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Prof. Ike Ekweremadu (CFR) to commiserate with him & the entire Ekweremadu family over the death of his younger brother, Rt. Hon. M.J Ekweremadu, who was till his death the Commissioner for Transport in the state.
Addressing Senator Ekweremadu in the presence of those who accompanied him, Igwesi stated that the last time he spoke with Senator Ekweremadu, he had planned to pay him a visit on a good note, but as fate would have it, his visit was on a sad note.
He enjoined Ekweremadu and the entire family to take heart, noting that “as Christians, we believe that God has a reason for everything”. He further pointed out that the late Rt. Hon. M.J Ekweremadu was a scholarly public servant who brought in professionalism, dedication and ingenuity to all the offices he had occupied, from his days as a Local Government Chairman to the House of Assembly and finally as a Commissioner.
Responding, Ikeoha welcomed Prince Onochie Igwesi and his entourage to his home. He stated how overjoyed he was that Prince Igwesi and so many other persons had come to identify with his family in a grieving time such as the family had at hand.
In his words “It is always good for one to distinguish himself, especially as a public servant and my brother left a mark in the Public Service.
“With the help of God, we are gradually getting over the shock of his sudden death. His burial has been fixed for 5th March and we are doing our best to get things set. We appreciate that Covid-19 would be a major challenge to people due to the need to avoid large gatherings so we understand that some people would come while some won’t and it’s okay.”
