Ebonyi Governor, Nwifuru Donates 14 SUVs To New Catholic Priests 

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has called on priests to pay less attention to material things and focus more on converting souls for Christ.

He said the primary aim of their calling was to serve God and humanity.” You should always make sacrifices, don’t compromise your duties as shepherd of the people”

Governor Nwifuru gave the charge on Saturday at St Theresa’s Catholic Cathedral, Abakaliki during ordination Holy Mass of 14 new priests of Abakaliki Diocese.

He commended the priests for defying human odds to the service of God as a Catholic priests.

While handing over 14 brand new JAC Sport Utility Vehicle to the Bishop, the Governor reiterated his matchless commitments to run an inclusive government, ensure strict delivery of democratic dividends to all as enshrined in the People’s Charter of Needs Agenda.

The Bishop of the Diocese, Most Rev .Dr. Peter Chukwu charged the priests to stick to priestly codes, reminding them the embedded rigours of priesthood which includes punctuality, charity, chastity, perseverance among others.

He commended Governor Nwifuru for his support to churches in the State and assured him of their prayers

The ordination of the 14 new priests brings to 226 the number of priests in the Diocese
