The All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Nkanu East Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Michael Chikosolu Ogbuekwe, has congratulated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his appointment as the party’s South-East Zonal Campaign Coordinator for the 2027 presidential election.
In a congratulatory message to the governor, Ogbuekwe described the appointment as a recognition of Mbah’s leadership, administrative capacity and political influence, particularly in the South-East.
He said the role, which places Mbah at the forefront of the mobilisation of the five South-Eastern states for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, underscored the importance attached to the governor’s leadership by the APC.
According to Ogbuekwe, Mbah’s developmental record and political alignment have positioned Enugu State as an important component of the party’s strategy in the South-East.
He said Mbah’s experience and political structure would be instrumental in communicating the achievements of the Tinubu administration and mobilising grassroots support for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ogbuekwe also described the appointment as a signal of the growing political significance of the South-East, expressing confidence that Mbah would deploy his leadership experience to galvanise support for the party across the region.
“This appointment is a clear signal that the South-East is central to the political calculations of the future, and there is no doubt that your coordination will galvanise the necessary grassroots support to ensure a resounding victory for the APC,” he said.
He commended the governor’s commitment to public service and ability to manage complex responsibilities, while wishing him wisdom, strength and grace in his new assignment.
Ogbuekwe, who signed the message as APC chairmanship candidate for Nkanu East Local Government, assured Mbah of his support as he takes on the South-East campaign responsibility.
