The Obuoffia community has praised the developmental projects of Enugu State Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah in the area while reaffirming its support for the administration of the Executive Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, during an appreciation visit to the council chairman.
The delegation, under the auspices of the Obuoffia General Assembly, visited Ogbodo on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to express gratitude for his administration’s support for Obuoffia and other communities in Nkanu West, while reaffirming the community’s solidarity with both the council chairman and Governor Mbah.
The delegation was led by the President of the Obuoffia General Assembly, Hon. Steve Nweke, and included the Grand Patron of the Assembly and traditional ruler of Obuoffia, HRH Eze Barr. Igwesi Obiora Igwesi, who is also the Chairman of the Nkanu West Traditional Rulers Council, alongside other community leaders.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Nweke, Eze Igwesi, Owelle Ike Okeke, Owelle Steve Avah, and the Chief Security Officer of the Obuoffia Central Neighbourhood Watch, Mr. Nnabuike Ani, commended Ogbodo for his support for the Obuoffia Neighbourhood Watch Team, particularly in response to recent security developments.
The community leaders also applauded Governor Mbah and the council chairman for what they described as significant infrastructural development in Obuoffia, citing the operational Smart Green School, the Type II Primary Healthcare Centre, ongoing road construction projects, and additional roads already earmarked for the next phase of the state’s infrastructure programme.
They reaffirmed the community’s support for both leaders for a second term and expressed confidence in their continued commitment to the development of Obuoffia and Nkanu West. The delegation also presented a formal letter of appreciation to the council chairman on behalf of the Obuoffia General Assembly.
Responding, Ogbodo thanked the Obuoffia General Assembly for the visit and the confidence reposed in his administration.
The council chairman described the visit as symbolic and reassuring ahead of the 2027 elections, saying it reflected the unity, trust, and shared commitment of the Obuoffia people to the continued progress of the administration of Governor Peter Mbah.
He commended the community for its peaceful disposition and commitment to grassroots security through the Neighbourhood Watch initiative and pledged that his administration would continue to complement Governor Mbah’s development agenda by delivering more people-centred projects and programmes across the local government.
Ogbodo also appreciated the Obuoffia General Assembly for presenting the letter of appreciation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive, responsive, and development-driven governance, assuring residents that no community in Nkanu West would be left behind in the council’s development efforts.
Other members of the delegation included the Secretary to the Local Government, Barr. Onochie Igwesi, Pastor Emeka Kelvin Okeke, members of the Obuoffia Neighbourhood Watch, and other stakeholders from the community.
