Rangers International have extended the contract of Technical Adviser, Fidelis Ilechukwu, until 2027 following the club’s title-winning 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.
The Enugu-based club announced that Ilechukwu signed an improved one-year extension after leading the Flying Antelopes to a record ninth league title.
The decision, approved by the Enugu State Government and supported by the club’s management led by General Manager, Amobi Ezeaku, reflects confidence in the coach’s ability to sustain Rangers’ recent success.
Ilechukwu has enjoyed a remarkable spell at Rangers since arriving at the club. In his debut season, he guided the seven-time champions to the 2023/24 NPFL title, ending a long wait for league glory.
He repeated the feat in the 2025/26 campaign, helping Rangers secure another championship after a decisive result against Ikorodu City FC in Lagos confirmed the club’s ninth league crown.
The latest success further strengthens Ilechukwu’s reputation as one of the country’s most accomplished coaches. Across 355 professional matches, he has recorded 155 wins, 76 draws and 124 defeats.
Beyond club football, the 46-year-old also serves as an assistant coach of the Super Eagles.
With the new deal in place, Rangers will look to build on their domestic dominance as they prepare for a title defence and continental campaigns next season.
