Nkanu West Chairman Congratulates Gov Mbah on Sun Man of the Year Award

The Chairman of Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, has congratulated Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on his recognition as The Sun Man of the Year 2025, describing the honour as well-deserved.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the government and people of Nkanu West, Ogbodo said the award was a clear affirmation of Governor Mbah’s visionary leadership, bold reforms and impressive performance since assuming office in May 2023.

He noted that the Mbah administration has recorded significant achievements across key sectors, including security, infrastructure, education, healthcare and human capital development, with positive impact felt across communities in the state.

According to the council chairman, Governor Mbah’s commitment to grassroots development has been particularly beneficial to local governments, citing the cordial and collaborative relationship between the state government and local government councils.

Ogbodo praised the governor’s respect for institutional roles and support for local government autonomy, which he said has strengthened effective service delivery at the ward and community levels.

“Of particular significance to us in Nkanu West is His Excellency’s strong commitment to grassroots development and his respect for local government autonomy, which has greatly enhanced service delivery at the community level,” he said.

He added that the people of Nkanu West were proud to join Ndi Enugu and Nigerians across the country in celebrating the governor’s latest recognition.

Ogbodo described Governor Mbah’s leadership as people-oriented and marked by uncommon dedication to public service, while wishing him continued success in steering the affairs of Enugu State.

Governor Mbah was recently named The Sun Man of the Year 2025 in recognition of his governance style and reforms since taking office.
