LP Calls For Cancellation of Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency Re-run Election

Umar who led a Labour Party Monitoring team to polling stations involved in the bye elections told journalists that due process has not been followed, accreditation has been compromised, result sheets have been hijacked, BIVAS machines disregarded and voters not allowed to exercise their right to vote.

The National Secretary who addressed the press in company of the Labour Party House of Representatives candidate, Hon Dennis Agbo, called on INEC to immediately cancel elections in areas where illegalities have been reported.

In his own comments, Hon Dennis Agbo also called for the immediate and total cancellation of the supplementary election.

He accused the PDP of using the Local Government vigilante to intimidate Labour Party supporters.

Hon Agbo said that Labour Party members are being chased away from polling booths by the local vigilantes.

He said that it was unfortunate that INEC officials are now taking instructions from PDP officials and allowing voting to take place in private houses.
