Enugu Govt to Unveil NG-CARES 2.0 Projects April 10

The Enugu State Government, through the Community and Social Development Agency (CSDA), will on April 10, 2026, unveil its 2026 community development projects under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) programme.

The high-powered stakeholders’ sensitisation programme, tagged OPERATION 2.0, will hold at the Main Hall of the International Conference Centre, Enugu, with the state’s traditional rulers, President Generals of communities, youth leaders, student leaders, religious leaders, and civil society organisations expected to attend.

Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, who will serve as Chief Host, is expected to reaffirm his administration’s commitment to community development, improving livelihoods, and strengthening resilience among vulnerable populations in the state.

Key National, International Partners to Attend

In a move to consolidate collaboration between the Enugu State Government, the NG-CARES Federal Coordinating Unit, the World Bank, and the Federal Ministry of Budget and Planning, the National Coordinator of NG-CARES will be in attendance alongside other national delegates and a representative of the World Bank on community development services.

Under the NG-CARES framework, the Enugu State CSDA serves as the delivery platform for Result Area 1: Basic Services, driving interventions that improve access to essential services such as water, sanitation, livelihood grants, renewable energy, and other critical community infrastructure.

NG-CARES is a flagship intervention programme of the Federal Government, backed by the World Bank, designed to strengthen community resilience and stimulate economic recovery, particularly among vulnerable households.

Over 140 Communities Already Benefited — CSDA GM

Speaking on the forthcoming event, the General Manager of CSDA, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani, described OPERATION 2.0 as a critical platform to unveil all programmes under NG-CARES 2.0 and enlighten stakeholders and community leaders on how to access development projects through the agency.

“Previously, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has through the CSDA provided potable water to over 140 communities in Enugu State, inclusive of Ultra Modern Toilets to eradicate open defecation. This was witnessed during the just-concluded Statewide CSDA projects inspection tour by the CSDA,” Ani stated.

He further disclosed that the Governor is keen on doubling the projects under the 2.0 programmes.

Ani emphasized the importance of the sensitisation programme, noting that all processes for attracting projects to every community will be unveiled succinctly.

Invited stakeholders are requested to attend the programme, which is scheduled to commence at 10:00 am prompt.
