Kwara United, Rangers Share Spoils in Goalless NPFL Clash

Rangers International F.C. were held to a goalless draw by Kwara United F.C. in a Matchday 30 clash at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

Both sides created chances in a fast-paced first half, with Kwara United coming closest early on, but goalkeeper Lucky Jimoh produced a fine save to keep Rangers level.

Rangers responded through Chidiebere Nwobodo and Waheed Adebayo, but failed to convert their opportunities before the break.

The second half turned scrappy, disrupted by injuries, though both teams maintained attacking intent.

Rangers came closest late on after Waheed Adebayo set up Chimaobi Igwilo, who was fouled just outside the box, while another chance in the closing minutes went begging.

The result extends Rangers’ unbeaten run to six matches, keeping them second on the Nigeria Professional Football League table with 51 points, one behind leaders Rivers United F.C..

Kwara United remain in the relegation zone with 33 points.

Looking Ahead

The Flying Antelopes must now pick themselves up and dust themselves down. There is no time to dwell on what might have been. Next up is a home fixture against El Kanemi Warriors FC at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu — a chance to make amends in front of their passionate fans.

For a team with title ambitions, the response to setbacks defines champions. Rangers will hope to channel their disappointment into a strong finish to the season.

Rangers will host El Kanemi Warriors FC in Enugu, while Kwara United travel to Ikenne to face Remo Stars FC .
