APC has launched its e-registration exercise in Nkanu West LGA, with the council chairman, Hon. John Chukwuma Ogbodo, urging residents to join the party and support Governor Peter Mbah’s development agenda.
The flag-off, held at Central School, Ndiagu Obuno Akpugo, drew party leaders, officials, and residents who completed their digital enrolment on the APC membership platform.
Ogbodo said the turnout reflects growing confidence in the state government’s investments in roads, schools, healthcare and water projects. He listed interventions such as the Amodu–Akpugo–Akpawfu–Amagunze Road, smart green schools in every ward, Type-II primary healthcare centres and borehole installations.
“The development our people are seeing today is not theoretical; it is visible and measurable… These are compelling reasons for our people to align with the Governor and the party driving this transformation,” he said.
He urged residents to take ownership of the progress by formally registering with the APC.
Speaking after the event, Kelvin Ede, the Enugu East Zonal Lead for the e-registration project, confirmed a successful launch and projected a surge in membership.
“Before the end of the flag-off, many residents had already registered… Within the next 48 hours, we expect registrations running into hundreds of thousands,” he said, attributing the enthusiasm to “the visible achievements” of Governor Mbah.
Ward leaders also described the launch as a milestone for the APC’s grassroots strengthening efforts. Akpugo Ward II Chairman, Emeka Paul Benjamin, said the ward would intensify mobilisation, while the LGA Chairman, Sunday Onovo, described the exercise as strategic for future political contests.
The event featured the biometric registration of Ogbodo as APC member number 001 in Nkanu West, symbolising what party leaders described as “leadership by example.”
Dignitaries present at the flag-off were the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Engr. Friday Nnam; the Secretary of the Council, Prince Barr. Onochie Igwesi; the Nkanu West APC E-Registration Administrator, Chidi Ani, Esq., alongside ward executives, party stakeholders, and community leaders.
