Minister Udeh Deepens Senate Collaboration to Drive Renewed Hope STI Agenda

The Honorable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochi Udeh, SAN, has paid an official familiarization visit to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Science and Technology, Distinguished Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature in advancing Nigeria’s Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) agenda.

The Minister, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Philip Ndiomu, expressed appreciation for the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope Agenda continues to provide strategic direction for the repositioning of the STI sector as a catalyst for national development.

Dr. Udeh reaffirmed the President’s commitment to building a responsive and result-driven STI ecosystem capable of accelerating economic diversification, industrial growth, and global competitiveness.

He emphasized the importance of sustained synergy between the Ministry and the National Assembly in ensuring effective policy implementation and timely passage of critical legislation.

In his response, Distinguished Senator Aminu Iya Abbas welcomed the Honorable Minister and assured him of the Senate Committee’s full legislative support, including expeditious consideration of bills and programmes related to the Ministry and its agencies.

He expressed confidence in the Minister’s capacity to deliver on the STI mandate in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The visit featured strategic discussions aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and accelerating Nigeria’s Science, Technology and Innovation development.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to working together in the national interest to advance innovation-led growth in Nigeria.
