Labour Party Governorship Candidate for November 8 Anambra election, Chief Dr. George Moghalu (Ohamadike), on Thursday intensified his grassroots campaign across Anambra State, receiving massive support and a warm reception from stakeholders, party faithful, and the general public, a statement issued by his campaign office has stated.
Starting off for the day in Okija; Dr. Moghalu paid homage to HRH Igwe Emeka Okezie, Igwe Oka Ije of Okija, before addressing party members at Nkwo Okija Market and the Okija Civic Center. Thereafter, the campaign train later stormed Eke Ihembosi and Ihembosi Civic Center, before moving to Ozubulu.
The momentum spread to Akwu-Ukwu in Idemili South LGA, where Dr. Moghalu was warmly welcomed by stakeholders and party members, including Hon. Harrison Okonkwo, Member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency.
From Akwu-Ukwu, the Recovery Agenda Team joined the celebration of the New Yam Festival of HRM Igwe Engr. A.C. Emelobe (Eze Okpoko II of Oba), before proceeding to Ojoto for an interactive session with party members and residents.
At each campaign stop, Dr. Moghalu spoke passionately about the urgent need to tackle insecurity in Anambra, stressing that his administration would confront the menace head-on.
Dr. Moghalu reminded the people of Ihiala, his maternal home, that he was in Okija not just as a visitor but as “Nwadi” a true son of the soil, assuring them of his unwavering commitment to their trust and confidence.
Highlighting the essence of his town-to-town campaign, Dr. Moghalu explained that it was designed for direct interaction with the people, to better understand their needs and aspirations.
He urged Ndi Anambra to draw inspiration from the remarkable transformation of Abia State under Governor Alex Otti, promising to replicate similar reforms in Anambra.
On the issue of vote buying, Dr. Moghalu charged the people to reject inducements and defend their mandate with dignity, and further assured of his commitment to free and qualitative education for children, free healthcare for the elderly from 65 years and above, among other things.
In their response out of pure joy and great enthusiasm, people of the various communities pledged their unwavering support for the Labour Party and Dr. George Moghalu’s candidacy.
