The Labour Party Governorship Candidate for Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu (Ohamadike Nnewi), has joined his kinsmen, the good people of Nnewi, in celebrating the 2025 Afiaolu Festival.
In his goodwill message, Dr. Moghalu paid glowing tribute to the revered monarch, His Royal Highness, Igwe Kenneth Orizu III, Igwe of Nnewi, for his wise and fatherly leadership in safeguarding the traditions and heritage of Nnewi Kingdom. He described the Afiaolu Festival as a time of thanksgiving, unity, and reaffirmation of the identity of Ndi Nnewi.
“As onye Nnewi, this festival is very dear to me because it reminds us of who we are—a people blessed with resilience, industry, and unity. I celebrate our sons and daughters at home and across the world who continue to lift the name of Nnewi with pride,” Ohamadike said.
He prayed for peace, progress, and prosperity in Nnewi and expressed confidence that culture and tradition will continue to serve as pillars of unity and development in Anambra State.
“On this special occasion, I rejoice with my people as we mark another Afiaolu Festival. May this year’s celebration bring renewed blessings, harmony, and greater achievements to every home in Nnewi,” he concluded.
