The Labour Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu, on Friday hosted the youths of Uruagu Nnewi at the Obi of Uruagu Palace, where he reaffirmed his commitment to youth empowerment, grassroots development, and inclusive governance.
The meeting, which witnessed a large turnout of enthusiastic youths, was held in an atmosphere of open dialogue and mutual respect. It provided a platform for sincere engagement on the future of Anambra, with the youths expressing both pride and hope.
In his address, Dr. Moghalu stated that his ambition to lead Anambra is driven not by personal interest, but by a shared desire to build a better state anchored on transparency, opportunity, and equity. He assured the youths that their welfare remains a core part of his agenda.
“This is not a personal mission it is a collective movement to return governance to the people,” he said. “Youths will play a central role in my administration through job creation, skills development, educational reform, improved security, and infrastructure renewal.”
He further highlighted the role of his foundation in equipping young people across the state with vocational training and tools to become self-reliant, adding that his commitment to youth-led initiatives is longstanding and unwavering.
“I am not far from you—I am one of you,” Moghalu said. “I will continue to stand with you, support your efforts, and walk with you in building stronger communities.”
The President General of Uruagu Nnewi Youths, Mr. Ejike Ifejiofor, lauded Dr. Moghalu for his consistent support and his accessibility over the years. He expressed the community’s satisfaction that a son of Nnewi is at the forefront of the governorship race.
“We are proud that Nnewi son is a frontline candidate in this election,” Mr. Ifejiofor said. “You have always stood by us, and today, we are standing with you 100 percent. This is our own,” the youths said.
The event ended on a high note, with the youths pledging their unflinching support for Moghalu’s vision and leadership, expressing renewed hope for a united and progressive Anambra.
“Anambra ga-adi mma ozo,” Dr. Moghalu declared, echoing a shared belief in a brighter tomorrow under purposeful and people-centered leadership.
