The Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ali Bukar Dalori, on Monday assured party members of his dedication to carrying out his new role with transparency, inclusiveness, and a unity of purpose.
Addressing members of the National Working Committee of the party in Abuja shortly after assuming office, Dalori said he was grateful for the continued support and loyalty to the party as he was prepared to work with members as partners in the collective task of safeguarding the party’s unity, discipline, and direction.
The Acting National Chairman appealed to members of the NEC to keep their eyes on the bigger picture, delivering good governance to the Nigerian people, deepening democracy within the party structures, and preparing for the future with clarity and determination.
He added that as they prepared towards the 2027 general elections, party faithful must begin now to strengthen the party’s internal processes, reconnect with their grassroots, and re-energise their structures across all levels.
Dalori, who was the Deputy National Chairman (North) of the APC, emerged as the party’s acting chairman following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje as the national chairman of the party.
Ganduje, from the North-West zone, assumed leadership of the party in August 2023, following the resignation of his predecessor, Abdullahi Adamu, from the North-Central zone.
In a statement on Saturday, APC governors under the aegis of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) unanimously welcomed Ganduje’s resignation, saying it aligned with the party’s “continued evolution”.
The resolution was taken as the PGF concluded a two-day strategic regional meeting in Benin City, Edo State, on Saturday, hosted by the governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
