[DEVELOPING STORY] BREAKING: INEC Says Petition For Recall of Senator Natasha Fails Constitutional Test

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that the petition at its disposal to recall the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, from the 10th Senate, has not met the relevant requirement of the law.

In a terse post on its verified X handle on Thursday afternoon, INEC wrote: “The petition for the recall of the Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District has not met the requirement of Section 69(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).”

The Commission, however, promised to issue a detailed statement on the development shortly.
