The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) has announced that the hitherto cancelled monthly sanitation exercise for the month of November will now go on
In a public service announcement signed by the SPA to the Governor on Water and Waste, Andreas Gebauer, ESWAMA said the clean-up exercise will take place tomorrow, November 30, 2024.
“The Enugu State Waste Management Authority (ESWAMA) wishes to inform the general public that the clean-up exercise scheduled for this month, which was previously cancelled this morning, will now be held as originally planned.
“This announcement serves to counter the earlier cancellation notice issued today.
“As with previous clean-up exercises, the movement of people and vehicles will be restricted during the exercise, except for those on essential services. Such individuals must present a valid means of identification or an official ESWAMA Pass. Offenders will be arrested and prosecuted at the Environmental Mobile Court of Law.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate the understanding of the good people of Enugu,” the statement reads.
