EFCC Condemns Caricature of the Commission by Skit Makers

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has again condemned the illegal and irresponsible use of its operational identities for skit-making. The EFCC warned skit makers and social workers that it would not hesitate to bring to book anyone caught displaying its operational identities for any engagement.

This is contained in a statement by the Commission that condemned the video code-named ‘EFCC and Army Wahala’, which is regaining traction across social media.

The EFCC said it is a caricature of the operational etiquette of the Commission. It also described the act as a shameful characterisation of its Operatives and a deliberate attempt to cast shadows on its image.

The commission claimed that its operatives are not bullies, but rather trained as refined modern law enforcement officers “rich in decency, civility and respect for members of the public, including suspects of economic and financial crimes.”
