Mbah’s One Year in Office: Your Agricultural Sector Reforms are Second to None – Ubru, Enugu’s Agriculture Commissioner

The Enugu State Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Industrialisation, Hon. Patrick Ubru has lauded the agricultural reforms embarked upon by the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, since he assumed office.

In a statement signed by him to celebrate Mbah’s first anniversary as governor and made available to Pacesetter, Ubru said the governor’s farsightedness had occasioned an agricultural revolution in the state.

Describing Agriculture as the backbone of every economy, he noted that the governor “knows what he is doing and it’s not lost on him that agriculture is the main driver of the economy”.

Part of the statement reads:

“On the occasion of the first anniversary of Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the governor of Enugu State, I salute a technocrat par excellence.

“I salute a disruptive innovator who has caused a rebirth and revolution in the economy of the state through his agricultural sector reforms which are second to none.

“Your Excellency’s interventions in the agricultural sector, most importantly for our smallholder farmers has resulted in dry season farming, provision of solar water pumping machines for farmers, distribution of seedlings and fertilizers to over 1,200 farmers in Adani, leveraging on the strengthened relationship we enjoy with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, your bold commitment to adding 300,000 hectares to our agricultural space, the establishment of Smart Green Schools in the 260 wards of Enugu State, the cassava to bioethanol value chain development, plans on establishment of Special Agro-Processing Zones (SAPZ) in the three senatorial districts of the state, among numerous others”.

Ubru wished Mbah a fruitful completion of the first lap of four years of his administration.
