An Enugu State Indigene, Faithfulness Nnenna Okoro has authored a novel titled “Withered Blossom”.

Presenting the book to the public in Enugu on Sunday, February 18, 2024, the 17 year old secondary school leaver who hails from Okpu Okpanku in Aninri Local Government Area of the state, said she was motivated to write the book to address the “immoral way of life my fellow dear youths and teenagers of today have chosen”.

She noted that in the book, she put together a story that will instill restraints in the lives of young persons and teenagers, revealing her commitment to changing and impacting young lives globally.

Expressing gratitude to the general public and attendees of the book presentation for being her “major source of support ever since this book got published”, Okoro thanked her secondary school English Teacher, Mr. Eneagor A.O.; her publisher, Mrs Felicia O. Eze; her mother, Mrs Clara Okoro, for being her “backbone all the way and always, especially at this season”; Mr. Chima Christian; Prince Onochie Jon-Igwesi, among others, while calling for support on getting her book into the state’s approved list of books. 

Okoro, who spoke to our correspondent at the end of the book presentation, said she was currently preparing for the JAMB exams by April, further appealing for a sponsor to enable her see her way through the university.

In her words: “Please I’ll like to use this opportunity to also let the general public know that I need a sponsor for my university education.

“Although I love to write books, I want to study Medicine and Surgery in the university. 

“Therefore, I pledge that I’ll present my result as the best graduating student in Medicine and Surgery in my year to the prospective sponsor of my education”. 

Pacesetter reports that the young Faithfulness Okoro is also desirous of meeting the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, to present her book to him. 

“Meeting him may or may not make me greater but in consideration of his position as the State’s Governor, I know that he would use his good office to help this journey of getting my book to that global audience I have always dreamt and aimed for”, she said.
