The 260 ward Councillors in Enugu State have reiterated their confidence in the administration of Enugu State governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, following his victory at the Supreme Court.
The apex court, in a unanimous decision delivered by a five-member panel of justices on Friday, dismissed an appeal filed by the Labour Party and its candidate, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, challenging the outcome of the governorship election held on March 18, 2023.
The council area lawmakers in a statement signed by their Coordinator, Hon. Nnamdi Odo, said they “join the entire Enugu State in jubilation and thanksgiving to God for the victory of His Excellency at the Supreme court today.
“Our joy knows no bounds, finally the days of distractions are over and it’s time to focus on work. We have no doubt that the governor will deliver on all his campaign promises to Ndi Enugu”.
The Councillors assured the Governor of their unalloyed support and dedication to supporting his administration to succeed and grow the economy of the state.
“Once again, the council of Enugu State Councillors pledge to work with his Excellency in delivering good governance to the state. As the foot soldiers of the governor we will implement the economic blueprints of the governor to grow out state’s GDP.
“Congratulations to all of us, indeed our tomorrow is Here.”
