The family of Late Chief Patrick Onyeke of Amalla Orba in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State has announced Friday, November 24, 2023 for the burial of their Matriach, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Nnemuruoha Chief Mrs Theresa Onyeke who died at 100.
In an invitation signed by Chief Chuma Onyeke, late Chief Mrs Theresa Onyeke’s first son, the final rites of passage will commence on Thursday, November 23, 2023 with a Night of Songs at Late Chief Patrick Onyeke’s Compound, Amalla Orba, Udenu LGA, Enugu State, by 5pm.
This will be followed by her burial mass, interment and funeral rites on Friday, November 24, 2023, by 10am at Amalla Orba Primary School Field.
While condolence visits continue on Saturday, November 25, 2023, a Thanksgiving mass will hold on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Parish, Amalla Orba by 8am.
Until her transition to higher glory, Chief Mrs Theresa Onyeke was both a religious and community leader who left enviable legacies of love, peace, empathy, discipline, hard work, uncommon integrity and unconditional fear of God for the family.
She truly without let or hindrance lived a life of sacrifice for others, and always, willing to help the down-trodden and was a mentor to many.
She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, mother in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother before her demise.
She was survived by 8 children- Chief Chuma Onyeke, Mr Ifeanyi Onyeke, Chief Mrs Ada-Onyeke Duruoha, Mr. Paul Onyeke, Barr. Cy Onyeke, Dr. Nkechi Onyeke, Mrs Rose Esinwoke and Ugoeze Dr. Obiageli Igwesi who is the Registrar, Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo and a former member of the Post Primary School Management Board; sons and daughters inlaw, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.
