In keeping with the determination of his administration to improve the social welfare of the people of Ebonyi State, Governor Francis Nwifuru has announced that five hundred Ebonyi people will receive two million naira each for the translation of their skills and talents to profitability and boost their businesses.

This was contained in a post by the Special Assistant on New Media to Ebonyi State Governor, Leo Okenta, on his verified X handle.

According to Okenta, “The N1,000,000,000.00 empowerment programme which was flagged-off today [Yesterday] by the Governor is the 1st batch for 500 Ebonyians living in various cities across the country who are into various menial jobs”.

Continuing, Okenta said, “The State has carefully profiled these people and provided the enabling environment at the State’s Vocational Training Centre, for them to develop themselves in various skills. This is overseen by the State Ministries of Commerce and Industry; AND Skill Development and Job Creation.

“Again, the Governor is consistently fulfilling his promises to Ebonyi people as enshrined in The People’s Charter of Needs”.

Pacesetter reports that shortly after flagging-off the N1,000,000,000.00 empowerment scheme, Gov. Francis Nwifuru met two Ebonyians off G-Hostel Junction, one Mr. Nwagwa Chukwuma, a welder, and Mr. Ugochukwu, a motorcyclist.

He called both of them, took down their names himself and directed the empowerment committee to include them in the scheme, to receive N2,000,000.00 each.
