However, some readers who drew their conclusions from the headlines without reading the news didn’t believe it and tagged it as being fake.
Our fact check confirms that Femi Ogunrombi who acted as Papa Ajasco is dead. However, Abiodun Ayoyinka who also acted as Papa Ajasco is still alive.
Clarification
Our fact check revealed that Papa Ajasco and Company (formerly The Ajasco Family) is a Nigerian family television sitcom created by Wale Adenuga in 1996. Adenuga released the Papa Ajasco movie in 1983, which was one of Golden Age Nollywood productions. Adenuga began producing and airing the television series as Ajasco Family in 1996.
At a time, the character of Papa Ajasco in the comedy series had a replacement. While Abiodun Ayoyinka is the original Papa Ajasco who started the series, he was replaced in 2006 with Femi Ogunrombi. Femi joined the popular TV comedy program as Papa Ajasco in the comic series Papa Ajasco and Company.
So, while Abiodun Ayoyinka (Papa Ajasco) is still alive, the news of the death of Femi Ogunrombi (Papa Ajasco) is very accurate.
Abiodun Ayoyinka has also cleared the air in a video which surfaced online yesterday that he’s still alive.
