FLOODING: Ogbaru community in Anambra lauds Peter Obi over visit

The former governor of Anambra State and the Labour Party Presidential Candidate in the next general election come 2023, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi (Okwute Ndi Igbo) paid Ndi Ogbaru empathetic and sympathetic visit today following the devastation caused by the perennial flood which ravaged the people. These people incurred indescribable losses ranging from loss of farms and livestock,temporal displacement from their homes and total destruction of their sources of livelihood. And some of the victims are currently accommodated in different IDP camps in the local government.

The major essence of the visit was in furtherance and redemption of his nation wide promise to suspend his campaign and start visiting the people currently suffering as a result of the devastation occasioned by this year’s ravaging flood in all the affected states nation wide.

According to Mr Peter Obi, he promised to come to the aid of the people through various means possible and liaise with different agencies of government and international organizations globally.

In his entourage was one of the Ogbaru illustrious son, a diplomat per excellence, the Deputy Director General/General Manager OBI-DATTI campaign organization, Mr Oseloka Henry Obaze (Nnanyelugo) and other Labour Party Candidates, Dr Tony Nwonye, the Anambra North Senatorial Candidate.

Ndi Ogbaru on hand to receive him and his entourage were the workaholic and amiable TC Chairman Ogbaru LGA, Mr Paschal Aniegbuna, the Ogbaru Flood Committee Chairman, Chief Ben Nwasike (Uti) Ogbaru Local Government Labour Party Chairman, Prince Emeka Nwosu, the Ogbaru Federal Federal Constituency Labour Party Candidate,Hon Afam Ogene (Akunnia) represented by Mr Chinedum Uwolloh, the Labour Party, Anambra State House of Assembly Candidates, Ogbaru 1&2, Mr Bewin Ezenwammadu and Barr. Nonso Nwaebili, other Labour Party Officials.

The Mayor of Ogbaru was full of excitement and profoundly thanked Mr. Peter Obi for his magnanimity and for the epoch making visit. He courageously upheld that Ndi Ogbaru will not forget his impactful administration and his cordial relationship with us in a hurry.

Mr Peter Obi and his team handed cash gift and relief materials to Ndi Ogbaru to serve as a means of mitigating their irreparable losses.

On the other hand, Chief Ben Nwasike lauded the Labour Party Presidential Candidate for redeeming his visit promise and equally promised to distribute the items received equitably.
