Following the planned 2-day maiden education summit of the Enugu State chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), a foremost body of proprietors of private schools in Nigeria, in collaboration with the Enugu State Ministry of Education, the Association’s Local Organizing Committee (LOC) has announced the Keynote Speaker of the summit to be Mr. Peter Obi.

Interacting with newsmen in Enugu, the Chairman of the Association, Ernest Ikeugwu, said the choice of the former Governor of Anambra State & the 2019 PDP Vice Presidential candidate, as the Keynote Speaker, was due to his sterling performance as Governor of Anambra, especially in the Education sector of his state, while he held sway as Governor.

“Peter Obi is a man anyone who comes in contact with, is impressed about. His attitude to governance is quite encouraging and seeing what he did in the Education industry of Anambra State, we decided that it would be great to hear from the horse’s mouth, to see how that could help further strengthen the education sector of both private and public schools in Enugu State. That aside, his intellectual reserve and understanding of the Nigerian environment is not in doubt, being a man of many parts”, Ikeugwu said.

Also, Maduka University College, Ekwegbe, owned by business mogul, Dr. Samuel Onyishi, has been named as the Platinum sponsor of the summit according to Mrs Lily Okechukwu, the Vice Chairman of the Association. Calling for more sponsors, Okechukwu stated that the Summit, being the first of its kind, would be massive and called for collaboration from good spirited individuals and corporate bodies.

Recall that the summit themed “The Role of Education in Bringing the Change we need in Social Values, Economy & Governance in Nigeria” is scheduled for Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at The Base Event Center, and Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Law Faculty Auditorium, UNEC, Enugu, by 10am daily.
