Nigeria has been facing a lot of challenges for decades now and the root cause of her nightmare is not far-fetched; there is imbalance in the system.
The failure to recognize the special ability God deposited in women has made it difficult for us to achieve the society of our dreams. In most developed countries, women are captains of industries and wonderful administrators, but back here in Africa, especially the Igbo nation, the strength of women are neglected.
Youth movements in Nigeria as a whole have not made any substantial impact because of the same system imbalance. In most situations, women are being intimidated and relegated to the back because the African mentality regard them as weaker vessels; this is a negative impression and there’s no truth in it. This African mentality has always suppressed women and deprived us the opportunity of making huge difference in the development of our dear nation. We need outstanding women in leadership positions.
Whenever you find a courageous woman who defile all odds to compete for a leadership position in this part of the world, then be rest assured that solution to a difficult situation is on the way.
Women of destiny like our own Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, late Dora Akuyili to mention but a few have proven to us that what a man can do, a woman can do better.
The election of new leaders of National Youth Council Of Nigeria,NYCN, Enugu State Chapter is around the corner with many aspirants doing all they can to emerge as the State Chairman. Out of them is a courageous lady, Miss Jennifer Onovo, who’s boldness, character, tenacity, and antecedence leaves no one in doubt that the solution that Enugu youth seek is hovering around her. This is one opportunity that the youths should not miss for any reason.
The question is, will Enugu State youths understand the handwriting on the wall and give this Amazon a chance to change the narrative from the old order to a new order?
This is not a time to play normal politics, it is time to do the right thing. Miss Jenifer Onovo has an impeccable character, posses sterling leadership qualities and will do a good job in repositioning the youth movement in Enugu State for maximum impact.
Let the youths of Enugu State vote wisely and give the only female a chance to prove the worth of women in our society, failure to do that will surely lead to business as usual which has not taken us anywhere good.
